Survival-When the Grid Goes Down

September is National Preparedness Month

Socio- Political & Economic Instability trigger Psychological Instability or UNCERTAINTY, UNCERTAINTY can cause CHAOS!

Chaos is what we need to prepare for, if we plan for the worst then you can take anything lesser in stride.

North American Power Grids are set up in three sections.

  1. Eastern Grid
  2. Western Interstate Grid
  3. Texas Grid

You couldn’t design a more perfect system set up for dependence then our Grids, virtually everything we do and systems in place that are dependent on the Grid. From our stores delivery system- Just in Time Delivery with inventory levels, Internet products and stocking shelves to Heating and Cooling ventilation systems. All banks are set up via the internet, security systems, jails and prisons operate from the internet and of course power. There are many thoughts and theory’s as to when the Grid could down and I’m not going to get into that we at BlackoutBunker is focused on the basics to get you and your family prepared for an event that could last extended time with no Power.

MOST FAMILIES HAVE LESS THAN 3 DAYS OF FOOD AND SUPPLIES AND WHEN IT GOES DOWN THINGS WILL HAPPEN QUICKER THAN YOU THINK!

Its time to Stock Up, Team Up & Train Up

You may need to isolate your inventory geographically either bunker down or find a location outside the city and team up with friends or relatives for a location that has a smaller population so you will need to preposition your survival gear as accordingly. Here is a list of some simple items that you should be purchasing to prepare:

  • Storable Foods
  • Clean Water

Some key points that you can start to research that will better serve you than watching NFL games all Sunday or NASCAR.

  2. Self Defense Classes
  3. Survival Gardening
  4. Plant identification- what you can eat and what will make you sick

Days after the Grid Goes down, this is when the scary things happen and survival is most critical.

Days 1-15 – Not allot of folks will go crazy at first within the first couple days but usually it is said that 48 hours to 72 hours the Law Enforcement cannot stay on duty. Then you will see a break down of what was once normal. Once the Law Enforcement is gone then the looting, robberies and barbaric acts of human kind will begin.

Days 16-45- Food is gone for most folks, those who are elderly or have chronic medical conditions won’t survive and history has shown that within 3 weeks Cannibalism will set in. So this will be Humans Hunting Humans

Days 46-75- There is no one running our local facilities, waste & trash are not going down the toliet or picked up weekly so now the rats run throughout the city, animals are now on survival mode as well. Disease and infection set in. Martial Law is set in major areas but not enough to mask the entire nation.

  1. Great article! This election season has my hair standing on end. October surprise? Another really scary part is when all the junk food and other addicts begin withdrawal of their habits. Scary, scary.
